It was pouring down rain pretty much all day, and there was no sunlight, and we got lost several times, but this shrine alone made the trip to Kyoto worthwhile. The shrine consisted of these "tunnels" which ran for I-don't-know-how-long through the forests. It was cool walking it all alone with nothing but the sound of rain on leaves. However, in the back of my mind, I kept thinking how all this stair climbing, and the fact we got lost for almost 2 hours, really wasn't the best idea the day before we were doing our Mt Fuji climb.
